I don’t know about you, but if there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s repeat an outfit.
I don’t care what Kate Sanders says; if you love an outfit, I think you should wear it as many times as you want to.
Sometimes I’ll catch myself picking out the exact same outfit multiple days in a row, and I have to stop and ask myself:
- Is this clean…?
- Do I really want to wear this for the 100th day in a row?
The answers are generally “probably...” and “yes, definitely, why would you even suggest otherwise” (respectively).
That said, even a card-carrying member of the Outfit Repeaters Society of America wants to change it up from time to time, and luckily, that doesn’t have to mean getting rid of your favorite pieces.
You can keep the same base pieces- your favorite top, bottoms, even shoes if you want- and change up the styling to get a completely different look.
When you do it that way, the outfit possibilities are endless, and honestly, you could probably get away with wearing the same thing for like a month straight if you really wanted to. Just make sure to wash it, because otherwise, well... gross.
Here are some things you might change to create a different look:
- Hair
- Makeup
- Jewelry
- Handbag
- Shoes
You could do a sleek ponytail for one look, and braids for another.
You could choose a soft makeup look one day, and a more dramatic one the next.
Like I said, the possibilities are endless, and you don't need Carrie Bradshaw's closet to get started.
So, whether you're struggling to come up with new ways to style your favorite pieces, or you just want some outfit inspiration, this is the post for you!
Today, I’m sharing how I’d style the same base, three different ways.
